Again, keep in mind that a lot of us have NEVER done these areas, so just the opportunity to be able to complete them regardless of the time is a worthwhile experience. (As I posted, it's pretty much impossible for me to ever commit time to a group and I'm sure I'm not the only one). Also, I'm sure his time was not continuous play. The beauty of being able to H/H it allows you to get up and take break, eat dinner, go to the bathroom, etc...
Bottom line, this update opened up a lot of Guild Wars to me that was realistically not accessible previously.

Indeed. I hardly ever got into UW, FoW or DoA groups before. Finding a place in a group as an elly has become so difficult, and I completely suck at and hate UWSC. I like the bonding, but the UWSC always turns into a retard party of fail fail and fail.
I've only ever fully completed each elite area once with decent alliance groups.
Now I can simply take 7 heroes and play whatever I want. If I keep on failing UW and DoA like I am doing plenty, it doesnt matter one bit because I can just go again whenever I want.

First: that is the tinniest compass I've ever seen Mine is at least 4 times that size, but that's besides the point^^
Second: I wouldn't call doing DoA NM with heroes in 3h40 minutes "pwningdomainofanguish"
Third: I don't see why you would do it in NM, with heroes, in more than 5 times the time it takes us to do it in HM. It doesn't prove you can do it, it proves you got too much time on your hands I mean, seriously, there has been a duo team who did it in 2h10 or something, HM
Could go on, but still^^ I wouldn't do it that way.
|
He didnt used cons -> you may can compare it with hm.

True. I got to do the Deep a lot more now^^ Just with Heroes. My goal isn't killing Kanaxai, if I wanted that, I'd go on an ally run that takes ~15 minutes rather than spending 30-45minutes there (yes, HM, no cons). I just do it for the drops, not the end reward, I want oldskl, uninscr Zodiacs^^ Haven't gotten anything yet, but I'm hoping still^^

Done Mallyx with discordway the other day too It has been a nice experience since the only other times i met him was with Ursan and with a Glaiveway PUG, following blinding what others did.

doing DOA nm with no cons and all heroes is where it is at. I haven't completed it yet, but i will.
I could pug it, but that is boring, and i'd rather not waste the money on cons.

What the others above said. And I haven't been to DoA much, mainly because only cookie-cutter crap is being run there, and people rely way too heavily on cons to win the game for them.
I just wanted to finally be able to clear the area doing it my own way, in a fairly balanced team, without the use of any cons. I don't mind that it takes time, I'm not in a hurry, and it's fun for me this way.=p But sure, if I were to plan on doing it on a regular base, I'd be looking for ways to speed it up yeah...=P

It took human players around 10 hours to complete a full run back in the day. Yes Enraged has been nerfed, but nice to see some people can actually clear the place without a dedicated tank build.

Yeah but giving normal people the chance to play, without grouping with a bunch of uppity farmers that would rage quit every group that isn't setting a speed record, is what it's really about.

7 hero's is great for some of us who h/h'd this entire game and have never been to doa, this was my first time and was alot of fun. had to use a conset for foundry and i used one for mallyx thinking it would be harder than the rest but ended up being extremely easy. mallyx took 22 minutes because i didn't read ahead first, took 10 minutes to figure out i had to disable all hexes and conditions on my hero's and also remove their spears so they'd stop attacking and losing energy.

Stop using cons, 24 PvE-only skills and silly tank builds and see if you can do it in much less time.
A really good example on how 7 heroes don't break the game and how pve-only skills on heroes wouldn't break the game (probably would shove 90 minutes tops of his time).

good job with DoA!
I would honestly drop the ST though. The spirits affect the minions and die in two seconds, so it's pretty useless except after your minions die at mallyx. Good job though!

My second run threw Doa. only used cons after i got to the third room in foundry and had to run out for 2 smokes during the run. so someone who knows what their doing in doa, what to pull and what mobs to skip with full cons the whole way could probly do this in 1:15 - 1:30.

I also just did Mallyx today, without cons. Took a few tries to see what works, and what doesn't. Had a few deaths during the Torment spawn, but other than that it went well.8) Took 25 minutes or so.

I did it
I was failing at pulling the mobs before, but now I figured it out:
I already had the other 3 parts completed, so I'm trying mallyx next.

The other areas were already complete with real players yes. I'll try complete mallyx, and then try all the areas.

Congratulations Life Bringing on an incredible achievement, and reporting this.
Despite some of the negative comments, I think 2:15h is incredible. For Bright Star Shine to criticise Life Bringing and Jeydra, two of the most accomplished H/H players ever, with unfounded and unsubstantiated comments is unwarranted and unwelcome ...
Prior to the hero update, I farmed duo with a friend through DoA NM (one conset during rooms 3 and 4 in Foundry) ... but even this takes 2:30h to 2:45h, at best perhaps 2:00h to 2:15h with full consumables.
And I accept that playing the solo tank with 7 heroes still requires precise micro to ensure full aggro control, but it gives me inspiration to attempt similar!
Perhaps a university can award you an honorary PhD for services to the GW community )
